Júlia Gomes, known for playing Luane in the series "Rensga Hits!" on Globoplay, has been confirmed as Wanderléa in Roberto Carlos's biopic. The artist was a longtime friend of the King, and in the 1960s, both were, alongside Erasmo Carlos, the main names of the Jovem Guarda movement. Victor Medeiros will play the lead role as Roberto Carlos, while Leonardo Bittencourt will play Tremendão.
The screenplay, written by Patrícia Andrade, will begin by showing the accident suffered by Roberto Carlos in 1947, which resulted in the amputation of his right leg. The plot will follow until the moment he performed his first big show at the old Canecão, in Rio's South Zone, in 1970.
Since it portrays this specific period of the singer's life, Myriam Rios and Maria Rita, who were married to Roberto Carlos, will not appear in the story. Only the King's first wife, Nice, played by Marina Ruy Barbosa, will be present in the film.
