Over fifty shepherds from the Miranda Highlands protested yesterday in Naso, in Miranda do Douro, demanding the Government make timely payments of the subsidies owed, due to wolf attacks that have occurred in recent years in this Transmontano territory.
Shepherds and livestock producers from the municipalities of Miranda do Douro, Vimioso and Mogadouro, in the Bragança district, wore black t-shirts with phrases like "Protected wolves, bankrupt producers" or "Let's save the highlands." They also held signs during the protest.
