The arrival of a mass of cold and dry air causes a sharp drop in temperatures in much of Central-Southern Brazil this Monday, the September 7 holiday. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the South Region will have a day of intense cold, with frost forecast in areas of all three states. São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais will also have lower temperatures.
In the Southeast, the cold front concentrates the areas of instability in Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo, where rain showers accompanied by isolated thunderstorms are expected. In southern Minas, in Rio de Janeiro, and on the coast of São Paulo, isolated rain showers are also forecast.
In the city of São Paulo, the holiday will be marked by cold weather, with a minimum of 10°C and a maximum of only 14°C. In Rio de Janeiro, thermometers should vary between 14°C and 23°C.
