Xamã performed on the Espaço Favela stage at Rock in Rio this Sunday (6), celebrating a new musical phase in his career. Before taking the stage, the artist reflected on his trajectory, describing his life as a "kind of patchwork quilt," which spans from rap battles to television.
The singer stated that he never had any interest in fitting into a single artistic definition, incorporating elements such as rap, improv poetry, samba and social critique into his work. According to him, these different expressions are part of who he is and he "surfs" through these influences.
His new album, called "Flerte", marks a new musical direction, blending references from Caribbean music with the street-smart attitude of Rio de Janeiro. Xamã highlighted that this mix reflects the diversity of experiences on the city's streets, on buses, trains and cars.
The artist also celebrated the diversification of his audience, which now includes from "little old ladies and children," demonstrating the expanded reach of his career after his transition to acting on television.
