dnoticias.pt6 September 2026 at 23:38

Leonardo Jardim's Flamengo beat Remo 1-0 in matchday 26 of the Brazilian football league. The match took place at the home of the second-to-last-placed team, where the red-and-blacks were very dominant but only managed a narrow victory.

The only goal of the game was scored by Samuel Lino, a former Gil Vicente player, in the 65th minute. This strike was enough to secure all three points and lift Flamengo to the provisional leadership of the competition.

With this result, Flamengo rose to the top of the league with 54 points, opening a two-point advantage over Palmeiras, who had not yet played their round match. The green-and-white side, led by Abel Ferreira, were facing Botafogo that night and could still reduce the gap to the Rio de Janeiro side.
