The first weekend of the 28th International Book Biennial of São Paulo sold out. Thousands of people attended the Anhembi District, in the North Zone of São Paulo, to participate in what is considered the largest edition in the event's history.
The Biennial occupies an area of 86 thousand square meters and brings together 269 exhibitors, with programming distributed across 11 cultural spaces. Spain is the guest country of honor for this edition, which also expands the space dedicated to international literature.
On Saturday, even with heavy rain, fans of American writer Lynn Painter filled the corridors. Many readers sat on the floor waiting for the author's talk, known for her romantic comedies and bestsellers.
On Sunday, one of the highlights was Iberê Thenório, creator of the Manual do Mundo channel on YouTube and author of over 20 books aimed at children and young adults. He participated in a meeting at the Cultural Arena that brought together many children.
