Rock in Rio 2026 has welcoming spaces for women

oglobo6 September 2026 at 19:15

Rock in Rio 2026 has welcoming spaces dedicated to women within the festival, in response to harassment situations that are still part of many participants' experience. The event acknowledges that, although it is a festival focused on fun, women frequently face cases of sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence during the event.

The Municipal Secretariat for Women's Policies and Care in Rio de Janeiro maintains two welcoming centers within the festival. One is located near the Discovery ride, and the other is near the event entrance. The spaces are open during all hours the festival takes place.

At the welcoming centers, women can receive services from psychologists, social workers, and lawyers. The team provides guidance and psychological support for those who experience harassment or other forms of gender-based violence, as well as legal assistance for victims.
