The United States Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and adviser Jared Kushner traveled to Kiev for meetings with Ukrainian representatives. In addition to the meetings with Ukraine, a meeting with representatives from the United Kingdom, France and Germany was also on their agenda.
Two rounds of talks had already ended when information about this third meeting emerged. A Ukrainian source told the Associated Press news agency that a third meeting with representatives from the three European countries was planned.
The talks appear to focus on efforts to reach a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, at a time when diplomatic negotiations are underway to try to end the conflict.
