Cantanhede will create a multimodal interface near the old railway station

Diário de Aveiro6 September 2026 at 16:30

The Municipal Council of Cantanhede will build a new multimodal interface near the old railway station in the city. This project comes as part of the municipality's sustainable mobility strategy, seeking to optimise the connections between different modes of transport.

The future interface will integrate the existing cycling network, allowing a fluid transition between the various means of transport available in the municipality. This integration aims to promote the use of more sustainable modes of transport and reduce the dependence on private vehicles.

The project also contemplates the capacity to receive the Mondego Mobility System, a mobility initiative that aims to serve the Mondego region. This connection will allow Cantanhede to integrate into a broader and regional mobility network.

With this intervention, the local authority intends to create a transport hub that combines different modes of travel, contributing to more efficient and environmentally sustainable mobility in the territory of Cantanhede.
