Eight countries condemned the Israeli proposals to expel the inhabitants of Gaza. The measure was presented by Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, responsible for the National Security portfolio, who proposed to empty the Gaza Strip of its Palestinian population.
According to the proposal, the Palestinians would be sent abroad. The measure generated strong international condemnation from the eight nations that issued the joint statement.
Ben Gvir's proposal arises in the context of the ongoing conflict in the region, which has caused a high number of civilian casualties and displaced persons. The international community has expressed concern about the humanitarian consequences of any plan that involves the forced displacement of the Palestinian population.
