Anitta was officially crowned as the new battery queen of Grande Rio. In an exclusive interview with the magazine ELA, the singer revealed that this has always been her biggest dream. "A lot of people asked: 'Why did you come up with this now, being a battery queen?'. But my family saw me, since childhood, imitating Luma de Oliveira, Luiza Brunet. I've always wanted this," she said.
The position has been held by major celebrities such as Susana Vieira, Grazi Massafera, Paolla Oliveira, and most recently, Virgínia Fonseca. Anitta stated that she does not fear comparisons and revealed how she received the invitation to take on the position.
Paolla Oliveira, who also previously held the position, gave tips to the new battery queen. Anitta commented on the substitution: "I don't believe in replacement." The "Powerful One" also said that if the public likes it, she'll continue; otherwise, she'll thank them and pass the baton.
Among the new features, Anitta will be the first battery queen in history to sign the samba of her own Grande Rio parade. The theme seems to have been made-to-measure for the artist, who promises a great performance.
