Former president of the insurance supervisor sues Fidelidade and Generali

Fernando Dias Nogueira, former president of the insurance supervisor, took legal action against Fidelidade and Generali. Dias Nogueira had to leave Lusitania in 2019, following the insurance cartel case.

The two companies against which the former executive brought the lawsuit reached a settlement with the Competition Authority in the insurance cartel case. The case is now before the court.

Dias Nogueira was forced to leave Lusitania in 2019 due to the insurance cartel. The case dates back to that period, and now the former head of the insurance supervisor is seeking legal accountability from the insurers.

STAS and APROSE agree on salary increases up to 8.46% in 2026

The Union of Insurance Activity Workers (STAS) and the National Association of Insurance Agents and Brokers (APROSE) reached an agreement for the revision of the Collective Labor Agreement in the insurance distribution sector for 2026, with increases in minimum remuneration between 2.62% and 8.46%, with retroactive effects from January 1st. The new salary table establishes minimums ranging between 955 euros (Band G, with the highest increase of 8.46%) and 2,550 euros (Band A), representing a direct monthly gain across all professional categories. The meal allowance rises to 10 euros per day and the full daily allowance for service travel in Portugal increases to 75.41 euros.
