Portal O Dia6 September 2026 at 12:00

The state of Piauí will have a prolonged September 7th holiday marked by extreme temperatures. The forecast is for intense heat with maximums reaching up to 40°C in several regions of the state.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), the Sunday before the holiday, the 6th, should already be marked by intense heat and low humidity in all regions of Piauí. The relative humidity should vary between 30% and 20% throughout the day.

This condition of dry and hot weather is typical of the transition period between winter and spring in the Northeast region, when dry air masses predominate over the state.

The authorities recommend that the population take care with hydration and avoid exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day during the long weekend.
