The 27-year-old Slovenian rider Tadej Pogačar renewed his contract with UAE Emirates until 2032, guaranteeing his continuity in the team for several more seasons. The announcement of the renewal comes at a delicate moment, as the cyclist is not expected to return to competition before 2027.
Pogačar recently suffered a serious crash that resulted in multiple injuries. The rider had a fracture to his left collarbone, which required surgical intervention, in addition to a cerebral concussion and a stable fracture to the C7 cervical vertebra.
The team also confirmed that Pogačar has multiple abrasions resulting from the accident and that the rider's season is officially over. This injury represents a significant setback for the athlete, who will have to go through a recovery period before returning to competition.
