The young Madeiran Margarida Costa won the bronze medal this morning at the European Figure Skating Championship, held in the Italian city of Ponte di Legno. The skater from Sporting Club Santacruzense competed representing Portugal in the free skating discipline, in the junior category.
Margarida Costa's performance in the long program was excellent, which allowed her to climb to fourth place in the overall standings. The consistent performance in this round was decisive for winning the bronze medal.
The path to the medal was not straightforward, as the skater had ups and downs in the short program, held the previous day. Despite these fluctuations, the athlete managed to recover and secure a place on the podium through her performance in the long program.
