The XIII Education Days of Lousada took place on September 3 and 4, at the Municipal Auditorium, bringing together the educational community to reflect on the challenges faced by teachers. Under the motto "Teaching life between bureaucracy and pedagogy," the initiative featured the presence of the Mayor of Lousada, Nelson Oliveira, and marked the start of another school year in the municipality.
The opening conference was delivered by José Matias Alves, from the Portuguese Catholic University, titled "Being a teacher: leaving the labyrinths of disempowerment, malaise and bureaucracy." The program also included interventions by Bercina Calçada, an Education inspector, on inspection and supervision, by Paulo C. Dias on teacher well-being, and by Pedro Lamares, from the National Entertainment Company, on communication and pedagogy through the reading of poems.
Among the topics discussed were teacher well-being, teaching bureaucracy, supervision and trust in the educational system. The conference also featured various thematic workshops addressing subjects such as artificial intelligence, mental health in schools, dependencies in childhood and adolescence, inclusion, phonological awareness, cinema as a pedagogical tool and the reception of migrants and interculturality.
The event was promoted by CFAE Sousa Nascente in partnership with the Municipality of Lousada, seeking to create a space for training and debate that would allow the educational community to reflect on the challenges of schools and find new tools for the work carried out daily.
