Manuel de Lemos led the Portuguese Union of Misericórdias for nearly two decades, since 2007, becoming an essential reference figure in the social sector in Portugal. His journey became intertwined with the very institution he directed, marked by constant challenges, profound changes in society, and the permanent need to defend and affirm the role of the Misericórdias.
Over these years, he led UMP with determination, knowledge, dialogue capacity, and assertiveness, qualities recognized by all those who worked with him. Faced with a new stage, Manuel de Lemos is now preparing to leave the presidency of the Portuguese Union of Misericórdias and embrace a new challenge: leading the Misericórdias Foundation.
