Cartaxo firefighters are carrying out search operations to find a man who disappeared in the waters of the Tagus river. The incident occurred at a river beach in the municipality of Cartaxo.

The man disappeared around 6:30 PM on Saturday. Authorities were alerted and immediately began search and rescue work.

Search operations are ongoing, with firefighters scouring the waters of the Tagus river in the hope of locating the victim.

Group arrested in Duque de Caxias suspected of stealing luxury cars for Comando Vermelho

Four men were arrested by the Civil Police on Sunday afternoon (6) in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense, suspected of being part of a gang responsible for at least 20 luxury vehicle thefts in the region. The arrest was carried out by officers from the 59th Police Station (Duque de Caxias), with support from the Military Police, at the intersection of Rua Orlando Teixeira and Avenida Brigadeiro Lima e Silva. According to investigations, part of the stolen cars was destined for Comando Vermelho and taken to communities dominated by the faction in different regions of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The police reached the suspects after cross-referencing information from the municipal monitoring system and identifying the vehicle used by the group, seizing materials used in the criminal actions, such as screwdrivers and an unspecified device.
