At least one person died in Zaporizhzhia during a Russian attack carried out overnight, which involved 108 drones against 11 Ukrainian localities. The information was confirmed by the Air Force and the State Emergency Service (DSNS) among others.
The Ukrainian authorities reported that the targeted localities were attacked during the night, in one of the largest drone attacks recorded. Zaporizhzhia was one of the most affected cities, where the only confirmed fatality to date was recorded.
The attack is part of a series of Russian assaults against civilian and military infrastructure in Ukraine, which have intensified in recent months. The massive use of drones represents a recurring tactic in Russian military operations.
The Civil Defense authorities continue to assess the damage caused by the attack, while rescue and assistance operations for the affected populations in the various targeted localities are underway.
