Rio de Janeiro's Downtown is undergoing a revival process after years of emptying during the Covid-19 pandemic. A walk through the area reveals streets and offices that are regaining activity, with the opening of new bars, restaurants, and residential projects. The goal is to restore the dynamism of the city's heart, attracting new residents and workers back to the area.
One of the main examples of this revitalization is the transformation of Sete de Setembro Street. The former Vertical Mall, which housed 64 stores, is undergoing a complete retrofit. The building is already under construction and will be adapted to accommodate 172 studios with areas ranging between 28 and 40 square meters.
All studios in the new development have already been sold off-plan, with prices starting from R$ 360 thousand. The works are expected to be completed within 18 months. The project is part of a broader movement to recover Downtown, which aims to restore its traditional bohemian life and extend activity in the neighborhood until late hours.
