The Parish Church of Macieira da Lixa was targeted by a robbery on Saturday night. The thieves gained access to the interior of the church through the entrance door, breaking the lock.
The robbers took the alms that were in the boxes intended for that purpose. According to the information gathered, they did not cause any further damage beyond the theft.
The authorities are investigating the case. The GNR is the security force responsible for investigating the church robbery.
