The Pombaline Festival is one of the big attractions of VINDOURO 2026, an event taking place at the Cabo Palace, in São João da Pesqueira. This initiative transports visitors to the 18th century, recreating the era of the Marquis of Pombal, one of the most remarkable periods in the history of the Douro.
The event features meticulously dressed characters, period clothing, performances and entertainment moments that recreate the Pombaline atmosphere, providing a different experience for visitors to the event.
The Pombaline Festival is integrated into the Wine & History component of VINDOURO, bringing together heritage, culture and history. This initiative allows visitors to learn more closely about the territory's connection to the era of the Marquis of Pombal and the history of the demarcated Douro region.
