Monte Palace Garden Madeira is the only candidate from the Autonomous Region of Madeira that secured a place in the National Grand Final of the "New 7 Wonders of Portugal". The garden managed to advance to the final stage of the competition.
The national semi-final took place last night at the National Palace of Sintra. This event featured 49 candidates, of which 21 finalists were selected, corresponding to three candidates for each of the seven categories of the competition.
The other six Madeiran candidates participating in the competition did not manage to get past the semi-final phase, thus being eliminated from the race for the title of Wonder of Portugal.
