Fortress of Valença is in the Grand Final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal

The Fortress of Valença secured qualification for the Grand Final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal this Saturday, by winning in the Castles category. This result means the fortress is now one of the 21 finalist monuments in this competition.

The Valença city council expressed great pride in the result, stating that it reflects the mobilization of all those who, from the beginning, believed in the application and contributed to promoting the name of the Fortress.

The competition went through several elimination rounds that brought together hundreds of candidates, of which only 21 reached the final phase. The Grand Final is scheduled for next Saturday, September 12, and will take place in Sintra.
