The new "Avotrexate" database was created to determine how many birds have been driven to extinction by human activity. It is an open-access global resource that brings together detailed information on the ecological and morphological characteristics of all bird species that disappeared due to human action. The project aims to systematically and comprehensively catalog the birds that have gone extinct throughout history. This tool will enable researchers to have a complete picture of the avian biodiversity losses caused by humans.
