The Ribeiro Sanches Schools, headquarters of the Penamacor school grouping, exceeded the set goals in their educational project and recorded effective growth in attendance, accounting for 395 enrollments for the current school year, 36 more students than the 359 recorded in the previous year. The data was presented on September 2 during the ordinary session of the Municipal Council of Education, where the rise in academic performance across most curricular years was confirmed.
The statistical balance demonstrates an upward trajectory in academic results, allowing the achievement of the programmatic objectives set in the institution's development plan. Entry into higher education translated into an expressive indicator, with eight students securing placement in the first phase of the national access competition, equivalent to a placement rate close to 90 percent among the grouping's candidates.
During the same assembly, the municipal executive and sector representatives formalized the ratification and continuity of municipal socio-educational support, covering all educational levels. The co-payment package includes free or direct support for school transport and passes, the provision of meals and school milk, as well as the delivery of workbooks and study support activities.
The municipal strategy aims to ensure equitable conditions and act as a tool to combat social exclusion and prevent early school dropout. At the post-secondary level, the continued awarding of the Higher Education Scholarship maintains the purpose of encouraging the graduate education of young people in the municipality, qualifying the region's human resources for sustainable development in Penamacor.
