Calvin Harris will perform as the main act at Rock in Rio's Palco Mundo on a Sunday. Before becoming one of the most famous DJs and music producers in the world, he worked restocking supermarket shelves and at a fish factory in his hometown of Dumfries, Scotland. The money from these jobs would help him buy the necessary equipment to produce his first tracks.
Born Adam Richard Wiles, Harris began dedicating himself to music production at a young age. His first job was at a fish shop, where he prepared shrimp. Later, he went through different roles at supermarkets and clothing stores. In 2016, when reminiscing about his first jobs on social media, he joked that he had been a "bakery boy" and a "donut boy."
In Dumfries, Harris set up in his home bedroom the studio where he began producing his first tracks. Almost two decades after starting his music career, the artist arrives at Rock in Rio as one of the festival's main acts, turning the City of Rock into a dance floor for the Brazilian audience.
