The Socialist Party (PS) harshly criticized the Executive's behavior regarding fuels. Eurico Brilhante Dias, in public statements, accused the Government of living off Portuguese taxpayers.
The PS official pointed to more than one billion euros in additional revenue from fuel price increases since 2024. This amount represents, according to the party, an excessive burden borne by citizens.
The accusation arises in a context of discussion about fuel taxation, with the PS suggesting that the Executive has taken advantage of price increases to collect more tax revenue, rather than protecting the purchasing power of the Portuguese.
