One of the novelties in the current edition of Rock in Rio is the use of artificial intelligence to measure audience emotion during shows. The innovation is being applied specifically to performances that take place on the Sunset Stage, where audience movements are monitored by technology capable of measuring the degree of emotion, sounds and euphoria during the shows.
The tool, installed in the Super Arena, near the stage, combines computer vision, infrared cameras and sensors to transform audience reactions into data. In real time, the system measures the vibration, synchrony and intensity of the movements of the audience as a whole, without identifying the individual reactions of each spectator.
The Super Sensations, brought to the festival by one of the sponsoring brands, tracks the density and temperature of the audience to produce part of the data collected during the shows.
