At Rock in Rio, AI measures audience excitement

oglobo5 September 2026 at 21:13

Rock in Rio will use artificial intelligence to measure audience emotions during the festival's shows. The technology will be applied on the Sunset Stage, where fans of various musical genres such as rock, hip hop and MPB will have their movements monitored. The system is capable of measuring the degree of emotion, sounds and euphoria of the performances in real time.

The tool was installed in the Super Arena, near the stage, and combines computer vision, infrared cameras and sensors to transform audience reactions into data. The system measures the vibration, synchrony and intensity of the movements of the audience as a whole, without identifying the individual reactions of each spectator.

The Super Sensations, brought to the festival by one of the sponsoring brands, tracks audience density and temperature data. The technology was designed by the GU agency and developed by the company 20DASH.
