Lito Sousa's wife refutes rumors about experimental treatment: 'We obtained it on our own'

Businesswoman Mila Seidl, wife of influencer Lito Sousa, used social media this Saturday to deny rumors about the origin of the experimental treatment the pilot will receive for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. According to her, access to the medication was not made possible by politicians, businesspeople, or public resources, but rather obtained through their own means, with the help of doctors and following a regular process to obtain the necessary authorizations.

Lito was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a rare and rapidly progressing neurological condition. With the progression of the condition, he has lost part of his motor ability and has been receiving palliative care at home since this Tuesday. The influencer was authorized to receive ALN-657, an experimental medication developed by the company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.

In a post on Instagram Stories, Mila explained that she and her husband tried to participate in the clinical studies of the medication, but were prevented because the research was closed to new patients. Even so, the couple managed to obtain access to the experimental treatment through other means, without involvement of public resources or political mediation.
