Fernando Pimenta, 37-year-old canoe athlete, cycled 300 kilometres between Ponte de Lima and Fatima, accompanied by two friends and family. The trip was made after the athlete had won two gold medals at the canoe World Cup held in Poland, less than a week ago.
The route was completed as a promise and personal wish of the athlete, who simultaneously challenged his own limits with this endurance test. Fernando Pimenta acknowledges that he is not a practicing Catholic, stating that he is not the one who goes to mass every day, but that he tries to do good to others.
