Lagoa is once again one of the bases for the Rallye Casinos do Algarve, a round of the Portuguese Rally Championship taking place between October 1st and 3rd. The Municipal Fair and Exhibition Park of Lagoa, home to the Fatacil venue, will concentrate the Service Park, the Parc Fermé, and other competition facilities, also serving as the location for the official start on Friday, October 2nd, at 3:20 PM. The organization considers the presence in Lagoa a strategic choice due to its central location, accessibility, and logistical conditions.
Activities begin on Thursday with the administrative and technical inspections of the competitors. On Friday morning, the Shakedown takes place in Silves, allowing teams to test their cars before the official start. After the start in Lagoa, competitors head to the western Algarve, where they contest the stages of Vila do Bispo/Lagos and Barão de São João/Budens, with a regroup and autograph session in Lagos at 8:00 PM and the City Stage in Lagos at 9:00 PM.
On Saturday, the competition continues in the municipality of Silves, with two passes through the stages of São Bartolomeu de Messines and São Marcos da Serra, as well as the stage of Santana da Serra in the municipality of Ourique. The event concludes in Portimão with the City Stage at 4:41 PM, followed by the Podium Ceremony and prize-giving at 6:00 PM.
The Rallye Casinos do Algarve is organized by the Algarve Automobile Club under the auspices of the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation, with support from the municipalities of Lagoa, Lagos, Portimão, Silves, and Ourique. Access to the official start and the Service Park is free, and the Fatacil venue also hosts the Fun Park during the three days of the competition.
