Deputy Francisco Figueira, elected by Évora, considered "historic" the moment of the commissioning of the Eastern Variant of Évora of IP2, last week. In his speech, the parliamentarian criticized PS and PCP, parties that he considered have failed in the realization of this infrastructure during their mandates.
The new variant has 12.8 kilometers in length and represented an investment of 54.9 million euros. This infrastructure aims to relieve traffic in the city center of Évora and reinforce mobility in the Alentejo region.
According to Francisco Figueira, the work represents another significant advance in the completion of the IP2 route, an old demand of the region's populations. The Government's commitment to this infrastructure was highlighted by the deputy as a fulfilled priority.
