Transport. Portuenses value connections more than price

Observador5 September 2026 at 16:20

The results of a study on the mobility habits of portuenses reveal that connections are the most valued factor by the population when it comes to public transport. Price comes as the second most important reason for users, followed by speed and frequency of services.

The mobility plan that was under public consultation will be subject to voting at the public meeting of the Porto City Council on Tuesday. This vote marks an important moment for the definition of transport policies in the city.

The study demonstrates that the criteria of convenience and access to transport networks assume greater relevance for Porto residents than the cost of travel, indicating a preference for well-connected and accessible transport systems.
