Former coach Carlos Alberto Parreira was discharged from hospital on Saturday morning after spending more than two months at Samaritano Hospital. At 83 years old, Parreira spent 81 days at the health facility, admitted on June 16 to treat multiple health complications resulting from an initial case of lung inflammation.

When leaving the hospital, Parreira was greeted with applause and cheers of "he's a champion" by family and friends, who organized a celebration to mark the moment. The coach, world champion with the Brazilian national team in 1994 and fitness coach of the team that won the 1970 World Cup, thanked the tribute and stated that it represents the final product of 40 years of work with clubs and the national team.

Parreira told TV Globo that he was grateful for the affection received during his hospitalization, highlighting that he believes this support significantly contributed to his recovery. He stated that the physical aspect will be recovered, but that the most important thing right now is emotional well-being, which according to him is very good.

The former coach will continue to be monitored at home and said he is confident he will soon be able to return to normal activities.
