Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the suspension of attacks against Russia over the weekend, coinciding with the visit of United States envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kiev. Zelensky announced that Ukraine is willing to respect a ceasefire on aerial attacks against cities involved in the negotiation process, expecting reciprocity from Russia. Putin had ordered the same three-day ceasefire to allow American negotiators to land safely. Zelensky also denounced that, before the announcement, Russians bombed airports in Kiev and Borispol, allegedly to prevent an American plane from landing in Ukraine. The trip of Trump's envoys occurs one year after his meeting with Putin in Alaska, which ended without agreement, in an attempt to revive negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
