SAPO Notícias5 September 2026 at 15:45

Over 1.8 billion euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan were allocated to the Environment and Energy areas, with all established targets fully met or even exceeded. The investment covered several strategic areas of intervention.

Among the sectors covered are energy efficiency, water management, waste management, renewable gases, energy storage, public transport and the blue economy. All these areas achieved the objectives set within the scope of the PRR.

The results demonstrate a positive performance by the country in the execution of European funds destined for the ecological transition and sustainability, with significant impacts on decarbonisation and the modernisation of environmental and energy infrastructure.
