Grades, drones and flight restrictions: what security will be like on September 7th in Brasília

oglobo5 September 2026 at 15:36

Amid the crisis at the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the expectation of political demonstrations on September 7th, the region of Praça dos Três Poderes and Esplanada dos Ministérios in Brasília will have an enhanced security plan next Monday. The operation will include barriers around public buildings, restricted access to areas near the headquarters of the Powers, and monitoring by drones and real-time cameras.

The planning brings together federal and Federal District forces and also includes searches, roadblocks and airspace restrictions. The intelligence division of the Federal District's Public Security Secretariat (SSP-DF) monitors the organization of demonstrations scheduled for the date and works with the possibility of simultaneous events.

In this scenario, the plan provides for keeping distinct groups in separate areas to reduce the risk of confrontations. The STF is part of the operation and stated that the planning is being carried out jointly with the SSP-DF and the Military Command of the Plateau.
