FESTIVAL DO MOSCATEL DE FAVAIOS RETURNS TO ALIJÓ WITH THREE DAYS OF MUSIC AND TRADITION

The Moscatel de Favaios Festival returns to Alijó for another edition, taking place between September 11 and 13. The event celebrates Moscatel de Favaios wine, bringing together music, gastronomy and tradition in a festival that draws visitors to the village of Favaios.

The first day's programme features the official opening of the festival, street entertainment and concerts by Paulo Gonzo, The Billers and DJ Nevven. On Saturday, September 12, highlights include the traditional toast with Moscatel de Favaios, accompanied by fireworks, and performances by Delfins, Them Flying Monkeys and DJ Nevven.

The last day is dedicated to the cultural and traditional aspect, with a church service, the presentation of a work dedicated to agriculture and the terminology of remedies and agricultural practices, street entertainment and the Harvest Ball. The festival closes in the evening, after a communal lunch intended for the local population.

Carnival: Portela chooses samba-enredo to honor Monarco in 2027; see lyrics

Portela defined this Saturday (5) the samba-enredo it will take to Carnival 2027, in honor of Monarco. The composition is by Wanderley Monteiro, now nine-time champion in disputes at the school, in partnership with six other authors. The next carnival of the Madureira school will be signed by carnival designer Paulo Barros. The school received 36 works from more than 200 composers competing for the plot "To the master, with love." The final samba dispute also brought together partnerships led by Jorge do Batuke and Cecília Cruz, and the result was announced by president Junior Escafura to more than 7 thousand people at the samba school grounds.
