The Spanish Government approved a decree to control the port of Ceuta and house migrants. The decision comes as a response to the migratory situation in the region.
The measure was taken after on Friday the administrative board of the Port Authority of Ceuta voted against installing tents at the port. This vote created an impasse that led the executive to intervene through a decree.
The decree aims to regularize the situation at the port and guarantee reception conditions for the migrants who are there. The Government intends thus to impose its authority over the decision made by the board of the Port Authority.
