Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered today the suspension of attacks against the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, for a period of three days. This pause in bombings coincides with the visit to Moscow and Kyiv of White House envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The two American envoys traveled to Russia and Ukraine as part of diplomatic efforts to try to reach a ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
The suspension ordered by Putin represents a gesture of goodwill in the context of ongoing negotiations, allowing the passage of the United States envoys safely during their meetings with Russian and Ukrainian officials.
