From September 11 to 13, Icaraí Beach, in Niterói, will host the debut of the Rio de Janeiro Beach Volleyball Circuit. The free competition promises to transform the waterfront into a sports arena with games, workshops and activities for all ages and levels, from beginners to professional athletes.
The event is organized by Instituto Faça a Sua Parte (FASPAR), with support from the Ministry of Sports and partnership with the Niterói City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure (SMEL). The program is completely free and open to the public.
According to Secretary Luiz Carlos Gallo, the choice of Icaraí for the circuit's debut was not by chance. He highlighted that Niterói has a strong identity with sport and its waterfront, and that the event seeks to unite competition, leisure, athlete development and positive occupation of public space.
The first day of the circuit, on Friday (11th), will be dedicated to students. The event aims to put athletes in the spotlight, uncover new talents and allow the population to experience the sport up close.
