Porto's midfielder Victor Froholdt will miss the reception to Manchester City, in the inaugural matchday of the football Champions League, following the cerebral concussion suffered against Moreirense. The information was confirmed to the Portuguese news agency by an official source from the club.
The UEFA gradual recovery protocol applied to concussions requires a phased reintegration process to training and games. This protocol automatically leaves the Danish player out of the 'dragons' debut in the millionaire competition.
FC Porto faces Manchester City next Tuesday, in a match that marks the opening of the Champions League edition. Froholdt was thus prevented from participating in this important match of the group stage of the European competition.
