Rafael Brito, a 24-year-old defensive midfielder who came through Benfica's youth system, signed for Otelul Galati, a club from Romania, on a free transfer after ending his contract with Casa Pia. The Portuguese player will therefore defend the Romanian club's colors next season.
The transfer was completed at no cost for Otelul Galati, as Brito became a free agent after the termination of his contract with Casa Pia, the club where he stood out as a defensive midfielder. This was his last team before moving to Romanian football.
The young Portuguese player, who grew up and came through Benfica's youth academy, is now seeking a new opportunity to establish himself abroad, joining a club that competes in the top division of Romanian football.
At just 24 years old, Brito hopes to gain playing time and experience in Romania, after having accumulated regular appearances in Casa Pia's starting eleven during his time at the Portuguese club.
