The Federal Police arrested in the act on Friday night (4th) a 19-year-old man who was transporting approximately 5.5 kilograms of cocaine at Rio de Janeiro International Airport, Galeão. The passenger is originally from Manacapuru, in Amazonas state, and intended to board a flight with a connection in Madrid, Spain, with a final destination of Barcelona.
According to the PF, the drug was discovered during routine inspection. The agents found the cocaine hidden in false bottoms of the backpack and carry-on luggage carried by the young man.
The man was arrested in the act and referred to the prison system of the state of Rio de Janeiro, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice system. He will face charges of transnational drug trafficking.
