Mariana Valenzuela is the latest addition to Benfica's women's basketball team. The 23-year-old Mexican player signed a contract with the red and white club until 2027, coming from Mexico, in a transfer that marks her first experience in European basketball. The athlete, who plays the positions of winger and center, stands out for her impressive physical stature of 1.88 meters.

Benfica thus reinforces its women's squad with a player of international quality, joining Josephine Filipe on the team. The club seeks to maintain its dominance in the national women's basketball scene with this signing.

Mariana Valenzuela completed her youth development in Mexico before heading to the United States. In the American college circuit, the basketball player represented the teams of the Florida State Seminoles and Seton Hall Pirates in recent seasons, where she showcased her technical and physical abilities.

In her first statements as a Benfica player, Mariana Valenzuela confessed enormous pride in representing what she considers to be the biggest club in Portugal at this stage of her career, demonstrating great satisfaction in beginning this new professional chapter in Europe.
