The 27-year-old Portuguese central defender Diogo Leite is set to sign for Lazio as a free agent, meaning no transfer costs for the Italian club. The player was a free agent on the market after his contract with Union Berlin came to an end, the German club where he had been playing in recent seasons.
The agreement between Diogo Leite and Lazio provides for a three-year contract, with the possibility of an additional year. Thus, the Portuguese defender remains linked to the Roman club until 2028, if the renewal option is activated.
Diogo Leite arrives at Lazio to strengthen the club's defensive sector, which was looking for experience for their central defense. The Portuguese player brings with him the experience accumulated in the German Bundesliga and also in Portuguese football, where he stood out at FC Porto before heading to Germany.
