The Socialist Party (PS) in Funchal is advocating for the implementation of GPS systems and more audible warnings for people with visual disabilities in the municipality. These measures come as a result of problems identified in the urban accessibility of the city.
Among the problems raised are architectural barriers on sidewalks, as well as ramps and pedestrian crossings considered inadequate. These difficulties represent significant obstacles for the mobility of blind people in Funchal.
The PS proposal aims to improve the integration and safety of people with visual disabilities in public spaces, making the city more accessible through assistive technologies and audible signage.
