The passenger was tied to a seat with tape and plastic zip ties by other travelers and crew members after making racist and homophobic insults during a flight in the United States on Thursday night (3/9).
The passenger was on board American Airlines Flight 618, from Dallas (Texas) to Newark (New Jersey), when he began making aggressive remarks against the passenger next to him around 10:15 PM, leading a Black flight attendant and other passengers to intervene to contain him.
When the flight attendant intervened, the aggressive man insulted him with a racist term and made homophobic insults. The man then moved to physical confrontation, striking the passenger next to him and destroying his computer. A female passenger tried to help the man who was next to the aggressor, but ended up being pushed.
Three other male passengers intervened and restrained the out-of-control man, tying him to the seat with tape and plastic zip ties until the airplane landed.
